Accessibility: Statement of Conformity
Accessibility: Statement of Conformity
Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU) is committed to ensuring its websites are accessible in accordance with the Bavarian E-Government Ordinance (BayEGovV). This accessibility statement applies to LMU’s central web presence (www.lmu.de) in its German and English language versions.
Non-accessible content
Despite our efforts to make the website accessible, there are some limitations:
Keyboard Navigation:
Certain areas of the website are not fully navigable using the keyboard. This particularly affects multi-scroll sections and some interactive elements.
Technical Limitations Due to WordPress, Theme, and Plugins:
Since the website is built with WordPress and the Elementor page builder, some barriers arise due to the themes and plugins used. These include complex layout structures, partially inaccessible widgets, and limited customization options.
Lack of Alternatives for Visual and Interactive Content:
Some graphical elements, animations, or dynamic content currently do not have equivalent text-based alternatives or alternative navigation methods.
We are continuously working to improve accessibility and welcome any suggestions for possible improvements. Please contact us if you encounter any barriers.
Provision of this accessibility statement
The motivation behind providing this statement concerns the ongoing testing of this website by LMU’s Unit VI.5 in regard to code reviews, live website reviews, and regular assessments by means of standard software tools and browser plugins.
